Camping and caravanning

There are no camp sites actually in the Gorge itself but these are very close by:

The Rodney Stoke Caravan and Camping park is a small, peaceful, adults only campsite located at the foot of the Mendip Hills between Cheddar and the Cathedral City of Wells.

The famous Cheddar Gorge and Caves are less than three miles away and there are plenty of activities nearby including fishing, golfing, horse riding, sailing and cycling. The Rodney Stoke Inn lies at the front of the park offering a delicious a la carte menu and plenty of West Country Ales and Ciders to sample!

We offer short-stay touring and camping with 26 pitches in total. Conscientious pet owners are welcome. The campsite also benefit from a brand new utility and shower block (March 2020) with separate Ladies and Gents facilities, a new bin-store, fresh water point and wardens office.

Petruth Paddocks
Petruth Paddocks free-range camping – like it used to be. Petruth Paddocks is where you go if you simply want to “get away from it all” and chill-out. Open fires are positively encouraged with kindling & logs delivered to your door! We aim to be the opposite of most sites these days so no overly zealous wardens prowling about – just Jules and the team who make it our mission to ensure everyone has a seriously laid-back time. Bring your own accommodation or why not book one of our Tipi’s or cabins? Our website should answer all your questions – once you’re happy simply click & book. See you there!
