Get Business, Get Digital!

Sedgemoor District CouncilSole trader or a small business owner? Need to get digital? Get Business, Get Digital!

Thanks to high demand the Get Business, Get Digital team are running two more free sessions in Burnham-on-Sea and Cheddar in the coming weeks. These additional workshops, in addition to pre-published programme, will allow Cheddar and Burnham retailers and businesses to get an edge in the online marketplace and sharpen up their digital toolbox.

The team behind Get Business, Get Digital, which launched in October 2015, and has so far held sixteen events in the district, are here to help small businesses thrive and get to grips with the world of digital. Get Business, Get Digital offers a wide range of free workshops for sole traders and small businesses living and working in West Somerset and Sedgemoor. Tourism businesses in the wider Somerset area are also able to take advantage of the programme.

The next half day workshop, which takes place on the morning of 24th May in Burnham-on-Sea, focusses on selling online and how businesses can build on income from online sales with EBay and Amazon amongst others. Online selling can be complex so anyone looking for tips and practical advice should take advantage of the tutor’s expertise and come along. There will be a follow-up session on the afternoon of the 24th  in the same location which will focus on Search Engine Optimisation and how to get the best for your business out of Google, Yahoo and other search engines. Business owners can attend one or both of the May 24th sessions.

The two additional sessions are taking place on 14th June at Gordon’s Hotel, Cheddar and 12th July at Princess Theatre and Arts Centre, Burnham-on-Sea. The Cheddar event will focus on standing out on social media and what makes a great website with the Burnham workshop focussing on helping independent retailers surviving in digital era. Booking details for these new sessions will appear on the team’s website in the next few days.

As we move into summer future sessions include Financial Forecasting, Bridgwater on 28th June and Cloud for Business, Bridgwater on 30th June.
